The Zambia Honey Council board comprises of nine (9) members who are elected at an AGM which is held every after three (3) years meet on a quarterly basis. The current board will be in office until 2012.

The board's functions include but are not limited to providing guidance and advising the secretariat on policy, forestry, legal and financial matters.

The current board comprises of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Legal Advisor, Financial Advisor, Experienced Administrator, 2 Bee Keppers and 3 Honey Packers

  • Technical advice on training methodologies for specific markets

  • Opportunities to advertise on the website and newsletter

  • Opportunities to receive information and give comment relating to the industry via website/newsletter

  • Tuned into District Information Network which serves as a communication channel between bee products producers/traders/processors/service providers/input suppliers

  • Access to central bulking centres/central buying and selling points in the districts

  • Privileged to receive the ZHC seal of approval for product promotion and quality assurance.

  • Training/capacity building in quality and business management.

  • Technical advice on packaging and labelling

  • Access to the ZHC database to create links with financial lending institutions, buyers of bee products, input suppliers, trainers, laboratories, certification bodies and producers of bee products.

  • Product information and international representation as a ZHC member

  • Initial inspection and guidance for application for organic certificate

  • Co-ordination of certification procedures

  • Biannual newsletter, access to website members pages
